TEZPUR MUNICIPAL BOARD- SWACHHATA MISSION

• Nature of work done is kind of tough explanation for Tezpur Municipal Board, with strong dedicated team/staff from the Chairperson to AEs, Conservancy Inspectors, Sanitary Inspector, and Moharars to sanitary workers, as it includes all the Sanitation work of the entire town. Mainly Swachhata Mission team constituted with City Project officer of SBM (U), Assistant Engineer of Tezpur MB under Chairperson/Chairman and Executive Officer of Tezpur MB. Under the Swachh Bharat Mission Urban scheme 393 IHHL, 1Unit of 6 seats Community Toilet and 3 nos of Steel Modular Toilets (2 nos Under Construction) constructed within Tezpur Municipal Area. House to house campaign on Swachhta Hi Seva by distributing Leaflets as well as Shops/Establishments within household areas on source segregation, plastic ban, guidelines on SWM, PWM rules 2016 etc. doing/done as a part of awareness programs. Tezpur Municipal Board also conducts special cleanliness drives at public/Religious/Market places twice/thrice a week and also awareness through Street Dramas, Hoardings banners, Poppet shows, Rally, Quiz, Drawing and Art Competition among school students, Wall paintings, Glosings etc.

   Tezpur Quote of Tezpur “Sanitation is more important than Independence”. From early morning with all responsibilities of Cleanliness starting from morning sweeping, clearing of public bins, clearing of blockage drains, monitoring of door to door garbage collection from household/shops/hotels/restaurants/office premises (Government, Private), Health Care Facilities (Government, Private) and any other establishments etc. including composting of waste (Dry waste and Wet waste) and Tezpur Municipal Board have deputed to Radiant Skills and Environmental Solutions.  Tezpur MB also appreciated/appreciating Rag Pickers/Informal Waste Pickers, who also become a part of our sanitary worker.

  Motivation should come from inside. Tezpur Municipal Board with the aim to bring behavioural changes among Public and, today with this effort we are about 70% success. If we all work with this hope and strong dedication the day is not far away, where Tezpur Municipal Board of District Sonitpur, will achieve/become number one in Swachhata ranking of India.

   Recognition received awards (if any) at District/State/National level:  

  Tezpur Municipal Board received Swachh City Award and for being fastest moving city in the Northeast Zone (50,000 to 1 Lakh Population category) from Shri Hardeep S. Puri (Minister of State- Independent charge), MoHUA & in presence of Shri Durga Shankar Mishra (Secretary of MoHA) on 6^th March, 2019 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi in Swachh
